Commercial window coverings · San Diego County

One switch. The whole wall.

Motorized roller and solar shades for restaurants, offices, hotels and community spaces — grouped the way the room is actually used, and wired in while the building is still open.

Rooms with more windows than a house.

A house has six openings and one person deciding. A dining room has thirty and a manager who needs them all down before the four o’clock sun hits the south wall.

Restaurants & bars

Glare off the west wall at dinner service, without taking away the view the room was built around.

Offices & meeting rooms

Screens you can still read a laptop against, on a wall of glass nobody wants to curtain.

Hotels & community spaces

Dozens of openings that have to look identical and behave identically, floor after floor.

Property & facilities

One contact through the job, and someone local to call when a motor needs looking at.

Grouped control

Five groups on one plate.

In a house every shade gets its own remote. In a room with thirty of them, that falls apart on the first day.

Shades are grouped by elevation and by zone, then put on one wall plate. A button takes down the west wall. Another takes down the dining side. Stop sits in the middle, where a manager can find it.

Control wiring going in before the room is finished.

On site

Fitted while the walls are still open.

Low-voltage runs, control positions and shade pockets get set while there is still access to them. Once the drywall and the finishes are on, every one of those becomes a compromise.

We measure on site, build the shades, and come back and install them ourselves.

Inside the glass and outside it.

Most commercial rooms need both, and they are not the same product.

Interior roller & solar

Glare control at the desk and the table. Openness chosen per elevation rather than one fabric for the whole building.

Exterior solar screen

Heat stopped at the facade, before it reaches the glass and before the air conditioning has to pay for it.

Exterior zip screen

Fabric held captive in side tracks, for patios and terraces where wind is the problem rather than sun.

A multi-storey job in progress.

Multi-unit

Buildings, not just rooms.

On a multi-storey job the same opening repeats floor after floor. Get the fabric, the openness and the mounting right once and it is right on every floor — get it wrong once and that is repeated just as faithfully.

We measure the opening types, build to them, and install floor by floor.

Hospitality

Rooms that have to keep trading.

A dining room often has its worst glare at exactly the hour it is busiest. The shade has to take the sun off the glass without shutting the room in or dimming the tables.

Openness gets chosen per elevation so the view out survives the brightest part of the afternoon.

Somfy, at the commercial level.

We are an authorized Somfy dealer and hold their highest residential and commercial certifications.

On a commercial job that is not a badge on a website. It decides whether the motor is specified to the span and the weight of the fabric, whether the control does what the room actually needs, and whether there is someone local who can service it in year four.

For the trade

Working with contractors, architects and designers.

Send us elevations and we will come back with motor and fabric selections for each opening.

  • Site measure taken by the people who will do the install
  • Shades designed and built in our own San Diego workshop
  • Install scheduled around the rest of the trades
  • One contact from selection through to handover
Commercial enquiries

Tell us about the building.

Opening count, which elevations, and whether the walls are still open. That is usually enough for us to come back with something useful.

If drawings exist, send them. If they do not, we will come and measure.

Before you ask us

Do you work directly with general contractors?

Yes. We can work from drawings during the build, or measure on site once the openings are framed. Getting us in before drywall is the difference between clean pockets and visible brackets.

How many shades can run on one control?

They are grouped rather than counted. A single wall plate can drive several groups at once, so one button can move an entire elevation. The grouping is decided by how the room gets used, not by how the wiring happens to run.

Can the shades be scheduled or run off a sensor?

Somfy motors support timers and sun sensors, so a west elevation can drop on its own ahead of the afternoon. Whether that is worth doing depends on the room; we will tell you honestly if a wall switch is enough.

Do you do exterior as well as interior?

Both, and commercial jobs frequently need both. Solar screens outside the glass do the heat work; interior rollers do the glare and privacy work at the table.

Who installs it?

We do. The people who measure the openings are the people who build the shades and the people who come back to hang them.
